Accra Technical University (ATU) Inaugurates new Governing Council in 2017

The Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Education has inaugurated the long-awaited Governing Council of Technical Universities including Accra Technical University.

The ceremony which was held at the Academy of Arts and Sciences has a former rector of the university, Professor Ralph Kingston Asabere as its Chairman.

Other Members include Professor Edmund Ameko, acting VC; Madam Hagar Hilda Ampadu, Ing. Kingsford Daniel Laryea, Mr. Sylvester Kojo Danuor, all Government nominees; Dr. Fred Kyei, COTVET representative; Mr. George K. A. Yeboah, Association of Ghana Industries representative; and Mrs. Cynthia Obour Nti, CHASS representative.

Others are Mr. David Sarpong Jnr. And Mrs. Gifty Ahwireng Koomson, Convocation representatives; Dr. Jones Ntiamoah, Teaching Staff Association representative; Mr. Philip Agalisi, Senior Staff Association representative; Mr. Fred Alpha Adams, Junior Staff Association representative.

The rest are Mr. Prince Addison, SRC representative; Mr. David Ayisala, Alumni representative; Mr. Alex Frimpong, Ghana Employers Association representative; and Mr. Eric Evans Otchere Gyamera, Association of Principals of Tech. Institutes.

The 19-member Council has two members pending. They are representatives from GRASAG and NCTE.
