Forensic science, also known as criminalistics, is the application of science to criminal and civil laws, mainly,on the criminal side during criminal investigation, as governed by the legal standards of admissible evidence and criminal procedure.

MSc/MPhil Forensic Science Degree

Masters Programmes (Full-Time) are of Two (2) Calendar Years and
(Part-Time) Three (3) Calendar Years duration.

MSc/MPhil Forensic Science At KNUST Entry Requirement.

The programme is for science degree graduates who want to acquire
knowledge and skills that can earn them an MSc degree in Forensic Science.
It provides a balance of science and law that will enable them practice as
Forensic Scientists.

Admission Requirements

 A good first degree (at least Second Class (Upper Division) in areas
relevant to Forensic Science including Physics, Chemistry,
Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacy and Human
Biology

 Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to the
candidate’s character, scientific ability or work experience

 Pass interview selection process, aimed at ascertaining the candidate’s
background, qualifications, experience and interest.

 A two years’ work experience in area relevant to forensics (e.g.) police,
military, immigration, prisons, NACOB etc
