PhD Sociology At KNUST

Sociology refers to social behavior, society, patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture that surrounds everyday life. It is a social science that uses various methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about social order and social change.

PhD Sociology Degree

PhD Programmes (Full-Time) are of Four (4) Calendar Years and (PartTime) are of Five (5) Calendar Years duration.

PhD Sociology At KNUST Entry Requirement.

Applicants must have MPhil in Sociology

 Other applicants with second degree in relevant field other than
Sociology and who have a strong research background may be
admitted. Such applicants would take the first year courses in MPhil
Sociology programme and must attain a CWA of 55 or above before
pursuing the PhD programme.

In addition, all applicants will be interviewed.
