Pharmaceutical Microbiology can be defined as the study of microorganisms that are pertinent to the production of antibiotics, enzymes, vitamins, vaccines, and other pharmaceutical products; it also incorporates the study of microorganisms that cause pharmaceutical contaminations, and degradation, deterioration and spoil of pharmaceutical raw .

PhD Pharmaceutical Microbiology Degree.

PhD Programmes (Full-Time) are of Four (4) Calendar Years and (PartTime) are of Five (5) Calendar Years duration.

Admission Requirements

i. At the time of application, applicants should have

 A good degree or equivalent degree in Pharmacy (BPharm/PharmD),
Herbal Medicine, Biology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry,
Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Technology and other
related disciplines from a recognised institution with a minimum of
Second Class (Lower Division) and in addition,

 A good Master’s degree (MPhil) in Pharmaceutical Microbiology,
Microbiology, Biotechnology and other related disciplines from a
recognised institution

 Adequate level of English proficiency, if candidate is from a nonEnglish speaking country.

ii. Interviews will be conducted for short-listed applicants to select those
who best qualify for the programme.
