The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is a social intervention program introduced by government to provide financial access to quality health care for residents in Ghana.

Select Option 2.

Select NHIS Card.

Enter the 8 Digit Membership Number.

Press Send.

Follow the instruction for payment.

How do I get a new NHIS?

Contact the district office or NHIS agent in your community. Fill a replacement form and pay the processing fee where applicable. You will be issued a new ID card.

Can you renew your NHIS online?

On selecting this option, the member is requested to enter their NHIS Membership Number (printed on their NHIS card). 

The system then prompts user to pay the required payment from their mobile wallet. NHIS imposes an additional convenience charge of 1.00 GHS to renew the NHIS policy via mobile.

The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has developed a dedicated NHIS USSD based service for its members. This service can be accessed by dialing an easy-to-remember short code, *842*10#, from any MTN or Vodafone number and is expected to be available on all networks in due course.
