Institutional Repository & Electronic Information Department

Institutional Repository & Electronic Information Department

This Department consist of two sections – The Institutional Repository and the Electronic Information. The Institutional Repository service, collects, organizes, and provides open access to scholarly works produced by the University’s faculty, staff and students. Visit repository here. This allows the library to preserve and provide wide online access to its scholarly and pedagogic output. The Department intends to motivate both faculty and students to have a web presence that reflects accurately the activities of KNUST.

The Department subscribes to over fifty Databases (E- Resources) through the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Ghana (CARLIGH) and these are protected by publishers using a variety of authentication technologies to ensure that only authorized links can gain access to the full-text content. Access to the e-Resources is restricted to staff and students of KNUST as well as visiting scholars; and retired staff who are still engaged in University activities. Meanwhile, it is important for users to respect the intellectual property rights of authors of materials in the databases. Commercial use is not permitted and users must not make systematic downloads of data for any purpose (i.e. you must not download all the articles from one volume or a single issue of an electronic journal).
