Department of Mechanical Technology Education
Introduction
The Department of Mechanical Technology Education was established in the 2013/2014 academic year. It was formerly a unit under the Department of Design and Technology Education.
Vision
The vision of the Department of Mechanical Technology Education is to become an outstanding centre for Technical Education and Training (TET) in the West African sub-region.
Mission
The Mission of the Department is to equip students with the necessary academic and professional competencies and skills through the use of innovative techniques to enable them teach effectively in pre-tertiary and tertiary institutions as well as conduct research, disseminate knowledge and contribute to technical education policy and development.

Staffing
The Department has four full time and two part time lecturers including one Associate Professor from KNUST who is on sabbatical leave. The Department requires:
Two lecturers in Mechanical Technology (Production)
One lecturer in Mechanical Technology (Plant)
One Associate Professor in Mechanical Technology
Activities
The Department organized a workshop for lecturers in the area of Academic Writing, Quality Assurance in Teaching/Learning and Research Publications at Wadoma Royale Hotel at Abuakwa on April 9, 2014.
Excursion
Metal work students from Nkawie Senior High Technical School, Ashanti Region paid an educational visit to the Department on to enrich their practical knowledge in their subject area.
