University of Ghana TDR International Postgraduate Scholarship, 2016-2017

School of Public Health, University of Ghana is now accepting applications for international postgraduate scholarship in research and training in Tropical Diseases. Scholarship is available for full-time postgraduate (masters, MSc and PhD) programmes, with a focus on Implementation Research, for the 2016/2017 academic year, commencing August 2016.

TDR’s mission is to foster an effective global research effort on infectious diseases of poverty and promote the translation of innovation to health impact in disease endemic countries.

Course Level: Scholarships is offered for pursuing full-time postgraduate programmes, with a focus on Implementation Research.

Study Subject: Scholarships are available for prospective students commencing masters, MSc and PhD programme.

List of Subjects: Public Health, Applied Health and Social Sciences and Occupational Health/Hygiene.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship is tenable at the University of Ghana, School of Public Health and covers:
-Return economy airfare between the home country of the student and Accra, Ghana.
-Tuition fees and a basic medical and accident insurance
-Monthly stipend to cover living expenses equivalent to local living cost
-Provision of a laptop computer
-Allowance toward recommended learning materials
-Support for research project/thesis expenses during data collection
-Intensive English language course to improve integration in the host institution environment, if applicable (for Francophone and Lusophone students)

Eligibility: In order to apply for scholarship, you must follow the given criteria:
-Nationals and residents from low- and middle income countries of WHO African Region.
-Applicants should normally be under 35 years old for the Master’s programme, and under 40 years of age for the PhD.
-Meet the standard University admission requirements for international graduate students.

Nationality: Applicants from low- and middle-income countries of WHO South-East Asia and West Pacific regions are eligible.

College Admission Requirement: These on-line forms are for applicants who have completed First or Second (Masters) University Degrees and wish to apply to Masters or PhD Degrees respectively.

Supporting Material: Applicants who did not graduate from the University of Ghana must submit the following documents online (Scan and Attach):
-Bachelors’ Degree Certificate and Transcript (for those applying for Masters’ Degree programmes)
-Masters’ Degree Certificate and Transcript (for those applying for  PhD programmes)
