Department of Anatomy & Cell Biology
The department of anatomy is dedicated to the effective teaching to provide solid foundation for the practice of medicine. The teaching is carried out by highly motivated staff, who integrate the teaching of anatomy with other subjects, with emphasis on clinical application. This integrated philosophy which is the hallmark of the School of Medical Sciences affords the students a holistic approach to the study of anatomy and sub-disciplines: gross anatomy, neuroscience, histology and developmental anatomy and medicine in general.
The department boasts of a state of the art dissecting hall for the teaching of gross anatomy with its accompanying cold room as well as a well furnished histology laboratory where each student has an access to his/her own microscope.The faculty is also keen on research into all the subdisciplines of anatomy and this has led to the publication of several papers by members of the department.
