Who an aerial rigger and what do they do? The Aerial rigger installs, repairs and replaces television or radio aerials, satellite dishes and other communication systems on all kinds of buildings.

What are the activities of an aerial rigger? Installs, repairs and replaces aerial masts, transmitting & receiving antenna systems and satellite dishes, tests signal strength and finds the best position for the aerial, etc, then fixes it securely, and connects it with a cable to internal sockets inside the building.

Where is it done and under what conditions? This work is carried out both inside and outside the building in the open air, working overhead and quite often at a height, exposed to the weather, as well as working quite often outside business hours.

What tools/equipment do an aerial rigger use? Craft hand tools, ladders, measuring instruments and other special equipment.

What do you need to succeed? You need vocational training, technical awareness, ability to react quickly, and manual dexterity. You should also be unafraid of working at heights.
