STU Bachelor BSc Technology (B-Tech) Degree in Mechanical Engineering Entry Requirements

The B. Tech degree programme is a top-up programme designed for holders of the Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

To be eligible for the B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering programme, candidates must hold a good HND certificate (Second Class Upper Division or better) with two years relevant post-qualification experience.

Candidates with second class lower division must pass a selection interview to be conducted by the Technical University in addition to two years post qualification experience in a relevant field.

Mechanical/Motor Technicians Course Part III or Part II old scheme holders with four (4) or three (3) credit passes in the relevant courses plus four (4) G. C. E ‘O’ Level passes (English, Mathematics) and any other two subject

OR iii. Mechanical/Motor Technicians Course as stated above plus two (2) or more credit passes of SSCE/WASSCE (SHS) (English and Mathematics).

Applicants admitted based on entry requirements (ii and iii) are supposed to go through some bridging course or Pre – B. Tech. programme organized by the department and pass the stipulated courses before enrolled fully on the B. Tech. programme.
