Bachelor Bsc Ceramics Technology At KNUST

A ceramic is an inorganic non-metallic solid made up of either metal or non-metal compounds that have been shaped and then hardened by heating to high temperatures. In general, they are hard, corrosion-resistant and brittle.

BSc. (Ceramics Technology) Degree

The School of Ceramics Technology offers a four-year undergraduate course leading to the BSc. (Honours) Degree in Ceramics Technology.

Wassce/ Sssce Applicants

Credit passes in Three (3) SSSCE/WASSCE Core Subjects; Including English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, plus credit passes in any three (3) electives from any ONE of the following groupings:
Visual Art: Ceramics, General Knowledge-in-Art and Chemistry or Mathematics or Physics. Science: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics or Biology. Technical: Technical Drawing, Building Construction, Applied Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Electronics, Physics.

A /O Level Applicants

FIVE (5) credits at GCE ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics, plus THREE (3) GCE “A” Level passes in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Biology. Applicants must also obtain a pass in the General Paper.

Mature Applicants

Applicants must have attained the age of 25 years at the time of submitting the Application.
In addition to passing a written and oral examination, applicant must have;
EITHER
FIVE (5) credits at GCE ‘O’ Level (or its equivalent) including English Language and Mathematics; plus THREE (3) Electives in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Technical Drawing, and Building Construction.
OR
Credit passes in THREE (3) SSSCE/WASSCE Core Subjects; including English Language, Mathematics (Core) and Integrated Science, plus credit passes in any THREE (3) Electives from any of the following: Ceramics, General Knowledge-in-Art, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Technical Drawing, Building Construction, Applied Electricity, Auto Mechanics, Electronics.

HND And Diploma Certificate In Relevant Areas.

Applicants may be admitted to start either from the SECOND (2nd) or THIRD (3rd) year based on performance at the interview.
