RECRUITMENT OF YOUTH IN FIRE SERVICE 2016
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) of Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations, in collaboration with Ministry of Interior and the Ghana Fire Service is seeking to employ a considerable number of young Ghanaians as Fire Support Staff (FSS) with a goal of assisting the Ghana Fire Service in carrying out effective fire safety education nationwide.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
a. Must be a Ghanaian citizen
b Be of good character.
c. Must be 18 years and not more than 30 years
d. Must have a clean criminal record
d. Must be physically and mentally fit
f. Applicants will complete a medical questionnaire and undergo medical examination.
h. Must have a qualification of SSCE or its equivalent
QUALIFICATION
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
GENERAL DUTIES: GCE “O” LEVEL/SSSCE/ WASSCE with at least 4 passes including English, Mathematics and core Science.
Secretarial: GCE “O” LEVEL/SSSCE/WASSC and NVTI Grade I & II
Trades: City and Guilds, BECE with NVTI Grade I & II, Ghana Education Service (GES)
Intermediate Certificate or Covet Certificate II
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
· Successful applicants will not be employees, but beneficiaries of the YEA employment module.
· Beneficiaries would be on two (2) years contract of engagement.
· Beneficiaries would receive allowances just above the Daily National Minimum wage level.
MODE OF APPLICATION.
· Applicant must visit YEA website: www.yea.gov.gh and fill an online application form.
· YEA District offices would also serve as online registration centers for those who do not have access to internet facilities.
· Print-out of the filled application form should be submitted at the applicants’ District office of YEA.
A passport picture, a copy of any national identification eg. Voters ID, NHIS ID, or Passport and contact number should be added.
