How can I buy Treasury bills in Ghana?
Most financial institutions offer T–bills to the general public with minimum purchases of about GH¢100 or GH¢200.
You can choose to purchase it for 91 days or 182 days, with the 182-day version having a higher interest rate because of the longer maturity period
Can the public buy Treasury bills?
Individuals can purchase T–bills at a discount to the face/value.
Later, they are redeemed at a nominal value, thereby allowing the investors to earn the difference.
Can you lose money on Treasury bills?
There is virtually zero risks that you will lose principal by investing in T–bonds.
There is a risk that you could have earned better money elsewhere. Investing decisions are always a tradeoff between risk and reward.
