What is pastry art made of?

Pastry art is the combination of carpentry, architecture, engineering, chemistry, painting, 3D designs, and computing, besides just baking, cooking, and a lot more.

What are the types of pastry?

There are five basic types of pastry (a food that combines flour and fat); these are shortcrust pastry, filo pastry, choux pastry, flaky pastry, and puff pastry.

What makes a pastry a pastry?

The pastry is a dough of flour, water, and shortening (solid fats, including butter) that may be savoury or sweetened. Sweetened pastries are often described as bakers’ confectionery.

Small tarts and other sweet baked products are called pastries. Common pastry dishes include pies, tarts, quiches, croissants, and pasties.

What is the difference between pastry and dough?

Dough is uncooked, it is malleable and often contains raising agents, or yeast in order for it to rise and bake in the oven.

Dough is essential for making breads and pizzas.

Pastry usually refers to small cakes, it can also be the base for pies, tarts, quiches and flans.

Pastry doesn’t normally contain yeast.
