Course Overview
DIPLOMA IN BASIC EDUCATION:
The new course structure is called the IN-IN-OUT system. In first year, emphasis is on consolidating and expanding students’ knowledge of the content of the subjects they studied at the Senior High School level. In the second year, students are introduced to the methods for teaching the subjects in the Basic level curriculum. They are also given plenty of opportunity to practice using the methods and strategies they are taught in what are called On-Campus Teaching Practice (OCTP) sessions. In the third year, students are expected to go out on attachment in schools where they will practice teaching under tire guidance of trained mentors, head teachers, class teachers and link tutors.
