3-Year Diploma in Basic Education by Distance – IEDE(distance)

Entry requirements

Category A (PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS)

Applicants should be professional teachers who must be holders of a Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ (Post Secondary/Post Middle) from a recognized College of Education or institution.

Category B (NON-PROFESSIONAL TEACHERS)

This category of applicants must be teaching in public or private schools in Ghana and must satisfy any of the following:

EITHER

i) GCE ‘O’ Level certificate holders: must have CREDITS in at least five (5) GCE ‘O’ Level Subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

OR

ii) SSSCE certificate holders: must have CREDITS in at least six (6) SSSCE Subjects including three (3) Core Subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, as well as three (3) Elective Subjects with the total aggregate of 24 or better.

OR

iii) WASSCE certificate holders: must have CREDITS in at least six (6) WASSCE Subjects including three (3) Core Subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science, as well as three (3) Elective Subjects with the total aggregate of 36 or better.

In addition to the above, applicants must provide the following documents:

i) A letter of recommendation from their Headmaster/teacher or Proprietor/proprietress

ii) A copy of an appointment letter

A copy of Social Security Identification Card
