Bachelor Bsc Integrated Rural Art And Industry At KNUST

The Integrated Rural Art and Industry programme aims largely at equipping students with necessary industry skills to promote and preserve the indigenous art and craft of the traditional Ghanaian heritage. It also aims at preparing students in designing, production and marketing of local artistic products that combine practical functions with modern art trends and the effective use of local raw materials. The professional entrepreneurial skills of graduates are also honed to expand the local art industry in Ghana.

BSc. (Integrated Rural Art And Industry) Degree

The School of Integrated Rural Art And Industry offers a four-year undergraduate course leading to the BSc. (Honours) Degree in Integrated Rural Art and Industry.

Bachelor BSc (Integrated Rural Art And Industry) At KNUST Entry Requirement

Wassce /Sssce Applicants

Credit passes in THREE (3) of the following elective Subjects: Picture Making, Leather work, Graphic Design, Textiles, Jewellery, Basketry, Sculpture, Ceramics, General Knowledge in Art, Management in Living, Clothing & Textiles, Food and Nutrition, Physics, Chemistry, Elective Mathematics, Biology, Technical Drawing, Woodwork Metalwork religious Studies, Construction, Economics, History, Akan, Geography, Literature in English, Business Management, Accounting, Costing.

A /O Level Applicants

FIVE (5) credits at O’ Level, including: English Language, Mathematics, and Art plus a pass in A’ Level Art.

Mature Applicants

Applicants must have attained the age of 25 years at the time of submitting the application with at least THREE (3) years working experience. They must also pass an interview at which they must submit a portfolio of Artworks showing interest in Rural and Industrial Art.
EITHER
FIVE (5) credits at O’ Level subjects including English Language, Mathematics and Art,
OR
Credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE elective subjects in the categories indicated in 9.0 above. Diploma Holders,Applicants who possess the Diploma in Rural Art and Industry High National Diploma (HND) in Education will be admitted into second or third year of the Programme. Applicants must also pass an interview or written examination or both.
