Creative Arts Therapies is an umbrella term for healthcare professions that use the creative and expressive process of art making to improve and enhance the psychological and social well-being of individuals of all ages and health conditions.

Masters Programmes (Full-Time) are of Two (2) Calendar Years and
(Part-Time) Three (3) Calendar Years duration.
MSc/MPhil Creative Art Therapy At KNUST Entry Requirement.
The MSc/MPhil Creative Arts Therapy programme intends to train students
in the use of psychological theories and the creative arts as a way to help
reduce the stress associated with the different groupings of the populace, ie,
children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics as well as people with special
needs; to enhance their mental, social and physical health.Duration, MSc – 12months, MPhil – 2 years
Admission Requirements
i. An applicant shall hold a First Class Honours or Second Class Upper
degree in the Visual Arts, Art Education, Education, Architecture,
Social Sciences, Biological Sciences, Psychology or the Medical field
from a recognised university.
ii. Previous work experience in a clinical, rehabilitative or educational
setting (i.e. teaching experience) is an advantage.
iii. MPhil applicants must show strong research backgrounds. They must
submit a research proposal of about 5000 words as part of their
admission requirement and attend and pass a written or oral interview
determined by the Departmental Board
