At Lancaster University Ghana, you will be able to study the core foundation topics for a Ghanaian Law Degree. You will also be able to pursue your own interests through a list of optional modules. Some cover technical legal topics, while others explore the relationship between Law and Society. You will have exciting opportunities to visit courts, participate in mooting competitions and undertake invaluable pro bono work.

Entry Requirements

WASSCE: TNE’s one year Foundation Programme is required
‘A’ levels: AAB or above (Direct entry into undergraduate level)
IB students: 30 points (Direct entry into undergraduate level)
IELTS: 6.5

Course Overview

Studying Law at Lancaster gives students the opportunity to gain a strong awareness of the social, political, cultural and historical dimensions of Law.  Students will benefit from innovative teaching techniques alongside traditional methods.  Whilst studying this course, they will develop vital skills in giving presentations, public speaking, negotiation and team work.
The scheme provides a contextual approach to the study of law and legal doctrine that will enable you to develop a critical understanding of law as part of social, linguistic, institutional and wider cultural practices. It also aims to develop your enthusiasm for, and ability to undertake, research into legal and social issues.

Career Info

Many of our graduates continue their training in order to enter the legal professions – mostly as solicitors, but a substantial number choose to practice at the Bar.
Some are taken on by the large law firms who regularly visit Lancaster recruiting for training contracts.

Placement Opportunities:

Internal Placements on research projects are available as well as external placements in various companies organised through our careers department
