The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Sub-Unit

The Quality Assurance and Accreditation Sub-Unit performs the following functions:

  1. Monitor all activities of quality assurance
  2. Assist with internal and external accreditation process
  3. Provide advice and policy alternatives on quality assurance to management
  4. Liaison person for external stakeholders
  5. Coordinate the quality assurance sub-committees
  6. Coordinate the University Ranking Committee

Head: Mr. Paul Kwadwo Addo

Paul Kwadwo Addo is an Assistant Registrar at Vice-Chancellor’s Office and Sectional Head for Quality Assurance and Accreditation. His duties include; policy initiation and formulation on quality assurance and educational management, quality assurance implementation and evaluation in the University, preparation of departments for internal and external accreditation and re-accreditation among others.

Paul is a Fellow of the Ghana Institute of Management (GIM) and a Member of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), Commonwealth Association of Public Administration and Management (CAPAM) and the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana (IPR).

Paul previously worked as Ag. Test Administration Secretary for the National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations (NABPTEX) where he was responsible for the effective conduct of HND Examinations and quality assurance  of same in all the Polytechnics and other institutions in Ghana. Prior to this, he worked as a teacher with the Ghana Education Service for about a decade where he taught at all the levels.

He has several publications by way of peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, technical reports and feature articles on educational issues to his credit and have attended and presented papers at several conferences around the world including British Council Going Global 2014. His interest is in the areas of leadership and management in higher education culminating in ways that seek to continually raise the standards of the teaching and learning experience and total quality management of higher institutions.

He is currently conducting a research for his doctorate degree in educational leadership in Florida, USA.
