Who is a cloakroom attendant and what do they do? The cloakroom attendant looks after luggage, coats etc for visitors to an organisation especially theatres, hotels and large offices or public buildings.

What are the activities of the cloakroom attendant? Takes in luggage, coats and other items from visitors, tags and stores them carefully, collects fees from them if necessary, issues tickets to them and then hands back the belongings they left there, in exchange for the tickets. She/he guards the items deposited in the cloakroom from theft, soiling or damage and also cleans the cloakroom.

Where is it done and under what conditions? In the cloakrooms of theatres, cinemas, ballrooms, restaurants and other social facilities. Work outside normal business hours is normal.

What do you need to succeed? You need initial training.
