Master Of Business Administration (MBA)International Executive

Master Of Business Administration (MBA)International Executive

The GIMPA Masters in Business Administration (MBA) is a professional degree. The programme is geared towards graduates with little to moderate professional working experience after their bachelor’s degree or professional certificates. The focus is on developing managers with practical wisdom and creative decision-making abilities. Hence, we are preoccupied with building the attitudes of mind and skills needed to be highly effective at the most senior levels of management.

As such, there is more emphasis on using the case method and other problem-solving tools as opposed to traditional learning approaches used in much of management education in Ghana. Unlike the EMBA, this programme allows for in-depth specializations as most entry to middle-level managers focus on a functional area in terms of their employment responsibilities. Specialization also allow for a focus on some areas that have not been developed in the past.

Academic Calendar

The GIMPA regular MBA Programme is run on two (2) formats: A modular format comprising of an intense learning experience based on five (5) three-week sessions at five (5) month intervals. Three (3) courses are offered each session. The evening format is for applicants who may not be able to join the modular sessions on campus. It comprises of four (4) sixteen-week semesters. The evening programme which used to be held downtown Accra (Akosa Plaza), has being moved to the Accra Main Campus at Achimota. Each course requires approximately thirty hours of face-to-face teaching, individual and group syndicated sessions on campus. The first session is typically in August for the Modular MBA programme and September/February for the Evening MBA.
