Home economics, or family and consumer science, is today a subject concerning cooking, nutrition, housekeeping, personal finance, personal wellness, and consumer issues. In the past, it was mainly just about cooking and housework.

Applicants must:
a) Possess a good first degree (at least 2nd Class Lower Division) in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related programme of study at the tertiary level of education from recognized universities.
b) Pass a selection interview.
