Master M.Sc Microfinance At UCC

Microfinance is a banking service provided to unemployed or low-income individuals or groups who otherwise would have no other access to financial services.

About Programme: 

MSc. Microfinance is a unique programme that is solely offered by the Department of Economics, UCC to train microfinance practitioners both in the country and in the West African sub-region at the University of Cape Coast. 

The programme offers students the opportunity to appreciate the challenges confronting microfinance in Sub-Saharan Africa and develop strategies to deal with the challenges.

It also offers the opportunity to develop capacity in teaching, research, and outreach in microfinance.

Students who graduate with MSc. Microfinance are usually absorbed by the booming microfinance industry and other financial institutions in the country.

Entry Requirements: 

First degree holders (at least a second class lower division award) with professional experience in any of the following related areas:

finance, banking, and any other social science subject area. Potential participants without a first degree but who possess professional and other related qualifications will be assessed by the Department for consideration into the programme.
