Accra Technical University (ATU) 2017 SRC Hand-over Ceremony :  Emulate past executives – Prof. Ameko

 

The Pro-Vice Chancellor of Accra Technical University, Prof. Edmund Ameko has charged the in-coming Student Representative Council and its executives to emulate the professional work done by the outgoing executives.

During a short handing-over ceremony which took place at the Auditorium, Prof Ameko showered praises on the outgoing SRC president for his maturity in handling issues and his respect for authorities.

“Even if am eating, ‘presido’ can eat in the same bowl with me because he has earned that respect from me” he stated.

Speaking at the ceremony, the outgoing SRC President, Peter Kumordzi, outlined some achievements accomplished by his administration through the help of the University’s heads.

He specifically mentioned the advocacy role they played for both part-time and full-time students to make 50% part-payment of fees.

Mr. Kumordzi also added that in order to ensure a confortable live for students staying in the hostels; they have provided a brand-new flat screen television in the old hostel’s JCR.

He urged the incoming executives to complete one of their major ongoing projects – an FM radio station to enhance communication flow in the school.

The incoming President, Prince Addison acknowledged the marvelous initiatives that his predecessors, under the leadership of Kumordzi, have in progress, and promised to continue and even do better.

“I am certain that my administration will strife to do much better for Accra Technical University”, he said.
