Accra Technical University (ATU’s) Ultramodern 32-room Guest House Ready

Contractors working on the upgrading of the A-Poly Lodge into a two-storey thirty-two (32)-room guest house have successfully handed over the facility to authorities of the university.

The facility which comes with two conference rooms and four executive deluxe suites is ready for use pending interior furnishings, according to the acting Development Officer of Accra Technical University, Mr. Charles Oheneba Adom.

According to him, the IGF-funded project even though delayed per the original schedule is worth all the time because the supervision which was done by engineers of the university ensured that the project met optimum standards.

“All the consultants are from the university; they are all from the various departments of the University and this is to show the world that we are not just training people theoretically. We can also execute our own projects” Mr. Adom pointed out.

The Managing Director of Proko Ghana Limited, the construction firm that executed the project, Mr. Prosper Ledi in a short interview also praised the authorities for their cooperation in ensuring that the project has come to a successful end.

He added that even though the project has been officially handed over, they will be around to take care of any concerns regarding the facility as it is with all such projects.

It would be recalled that in May 2014, the university authorities handed over two projects to Proko Ghana Limited of which the construction of a two-storey thirty-two (32)-room guest house formed a part.

Present at the handing over ceremony was the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Achio; the Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Edmund Ameko; Deans of the various schools; officials from the Development Directorate and officials from Proko Ghana Limited.
