The University of Cape Coast invites applications from experienced, results-oriented and highly motivated individuals for the position of Director, Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) which will become vacant on 1st August.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Director shall be the Academic and Administrative Head of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for managing matters relating to research, innovation and consultancy.

QUALIFICATION(S) & EXPERIENCE

Applicants must be of professorial status, scholars of high repute and be individuals of stature and integrity with strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, consultancy and research skills.

Applicants must possess a terminal degree (PhD) in the relevant discipline and have over ten (10) years of relevant working experience in a reputable university or related academic institution.

Applicants must show evidence of the following qualities:

a)         Capacity to coordinate and sustain the research agenda of the University;

b)         Ability to source and manage funds for research;

a)         Flair for research proposal writing as well as the ability to train Faculty Members in the writing of research proposals for grant;

b)         Contribution to the Ghanaian and/or the global economy through research;

c)          Ability to coordinate and support publication of journals and books in the University.

TERMS OF THE APPOINTMENT

The appointment is full-time and is for a term of three years renewable for a second consecutive term of three years only subject to application and interview.

Applicants should be able to serve a full three-year term before attaining the compulsory retiring age of 60 years.

A successful candidate, who is not a Faculty Member of the University of Cape Coast prior to the appointment, may opt to be a Faculty Member after serving the term(s) if that is before his/her sixtieth (60th) birthday.
