PAC UNIVERSITY JOURNAL OF SOCIAL SCIENCES VOL II – CALL FOR PAPERS

PAC University Journal of Social Sciences is a peer reviewed interdisciplinary journal focusing on theory, research and reflections on practices in Social Sciences. The journal is refereed and is published annually. The journal publishes papers in the following areas: Leadership, Psychology, Business, Social work, Communication, Languages and Linguistics, Bible and Theology, ICT. The aim is to disseminate findings/insights/explications that show how these broad areas relate to the social sciences.

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

The purpose of PAC University Journal of Social Sciences is to disseminate empirical and non-empirical research findings in Social Sciences.  Researchers, scholars, specialists are invited to submit abstracts and manuscripts. The articles may be based on original research, explications of theories and reflections on social issues. All articles must include a discussion on implications for practice in the field of social sciences.

The papers based on research should include introduction, literature review, methodology, summary of findings, discussion of implications for social sciences practices, recommendations and a conclusion.

Papers that focus on explications of theories should have an introduction, a clear explanation of theory or theories being considered, literature review, implications for practice in social science, recommendations and a conclusion.

Reflections-based papers should provide a critical analysis and insights regarding effective practices in social sciences contexts. The paper should give an introduction, literature review, effects of various social science practices on society, insights into implications for the practices, recommendations and a conclusion.

MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION

The manuscript should be submitted as an MS Word. Email attachment to:publications@pacuniversity.ac.ke

Cover page: On your cover page include the article title, you name, institutional affiliation, telephone number, mailing address, email address, and a fifty-word biography. Do not include your name on any other pages of your paper.

Abstract: Include an abstract of not more than 150 words.

Paper: You may include endnotes, appendices, and references. The methods section must be sufficiently detailed so that it could guide replication of a similar study.

Graphs and Figures: To be submitted separately but indicating clearly on the body of the paper where each graph or figure should be inserted.

Citations: The paper should be fully documented with accurate citations as set forth in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition). Editors make every effort possible to ensure accuracy of all citations; however, the final responsibility for citations remains with the author of the article.

Font: The font to be used should be in Warnock Pro (a serif font), size 10.5 points

Tables and figures: Please consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th Edition) for examples of how to format tables and figures.

Length: Not more than 7,500 words

Language: English (British standard variety)

Papers by single or multiple authors are welcome.

All manuscripts will be evaluated on the basis of the significance of the content, clear methodology (especially for research-based papers), discussion of implications for practice in social sciences and the clarity and cohesion of the article.

Publishing Process:

  1. Authors send in their abstract
  2. Authors receive feedback on the status of the abstract after it is reviewed
  3. Authors send in the full paper
  4. Paper is peer reviewed
  5. Comments sent to the authors to address the reviewers’ comments
  6. Revised papers sent to the editor
  7. Proofreading
  8. Papers submitted for publication

Important Dates

  • Deadline to receive abstracts: July 1, 2018
  • Feedback on acceptance of abstracts: August 1, 2018
  • Submission of full papers: September 1, 2018
  • Feedback from Peer reviewers: October 1, 2018.
  • Revised manuscript:  November 1, 2018
  • Publication: December 30, 2018
