Stakeholders Workshop for Basic School Teachers in Effutu Municipality – Preparation for the Implementation of the New 4 Year B.Ed Programme

The Institute for Teacher Education and Continuing Professional Development (ITECPD) of the University of Education, Winneba is organizing a 2-day Residential Workshop on the preparation for the Implementation of the New 4 – Year B.Ed Programme. 

 This workshop is to prepare Basic School Teachers to coach/facilitate Level 100 Students of the Departments of Basic Education and Early Childhood who will be embarking on the Supported Teaching in School (STS) component of the New 4 Year B.Ed Curriculum.

The workshop will span over a 5-week period with 2-sessions in a week.  Participants of the workshop include over Seven Hundred (700) persons from the Directorate of  Education, Effutu Municipality, Basic School Teachers Primary and JHS, as well as, Early Childhood Teachers in Winneba.

The overall objective of this Workshop is therefore to sensitize Basic School Teachers on the implementation of the new curriculum and specifically of their role in the STS.

Some of the topics to be treated at the Workshop will include: Supported Teaching in Schools (STS), formerly known as School Internship Programme, Partnership in Schools, SEN and Gender inclusion, etc
