Admission To Undergraduate Programmes At The UMaT School Of Railways And Infrastructure Development, Essikado, Sekondi-Takoradi

SALE OF APPLICATION FORMS FOR ADMISSION

 It is announced for the information of prospective applicants and the general public that application forms for admission to the following undergraduate Programmes at the Essikado Campus (formerly Railway Training School) of the University of Mines and Technology for the 2020/2021 academic year are on sale:

PROGRAMMES AVAILABLE

a. BSc Geomatic Engineering;

b. BSc Geological Engineering;

c. BSc Environmental and Safety Engineering;

d. BSc Mechanical Engineering;

e. BSc Electrical and Electronic Engineering; and

f. BSc Computer Science and Engineering

The minimum period for completion of the Programmes shall be 8 semesters (4 years) and the maximum shall be 12 semesters (6 years).

Applicants with ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level Certificates

Applicants must have credit passes (Grade 6) in five (5) GCE Ordinary Level subjects in English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and additional Mathematics and three GCE Advanced Level passes (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better) in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Mature Applicants

Applicants must be at least 25 years old and must have passes in five SSS level subjects including English and Mathematics OR credits in five ‘O’ Level subjects including English and Mathematics. The applicants must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is at least 5 years old at the time of application. In addition, the applicant must have relevant working experience and must pass an interview conducted by the Department.

International Applicants

International applicants from accredited/recognised institutions who satisfy any of the requirements or their equivalent will be considered for admission. Applicants with international Baccalaureate in science are eligible to apply. Such applicants must also possess a proficiency certificate in English. Please note that all certificates should be translated into English. Equivalences with regard to the certificates would be sought at the National Accreditation Board by the University.

MODE OF APPLICATION

A. Ghanaian Applicants

 i. Applicants are required to purchase the Online Admission E-voucher from any branch of GCB Bank, Access Bank, Stanbic Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, Cal Bank and Post Offices in all Regional, Municipal and District Capitals at the cost of Two Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH¢200.00). The E-voucher will be used by the applicant as the login details on www.admissions.umat.edu.gh

ii. The completed online application form should be printed and submitted with the relevant documents to the address below.

B. International Applicants

International applicants should follow the steps below.

  • Applicants should fill in the online submission code request form at www.admissions.umat.edu.gh with a valid mobile number format. E.g. 00233 becomes 233.
  • You will receive the Serial Number and Personal Identification Number to access the online admission system via text message and email.
  • Complete the online registration process.
  • Print the completed form and add photocopies of relevant documents and send to the address below.
