UDS is 25. Hurray!
It introduced its flagship programme – the Third Trimester Field Practical Programme (TTFPP) as part of the University’s pedagogy and in fulfillment of its mandate.
In 2012, UDS celebrated twenty (20) years of delivering academic excellence under the theme “UDS: 20 years of Community Development through Higher Education”. The highlights of the celebration included a medical outreach that covered selected communities within the University’s catchment area; a quiz competition; the first edition of the Africa leadership Lectures; Alumni Homecoming and a Dinner and Awards Night, held to honor deserving staff and development partners.
To commemorate the silver jubilee celebrations of the University, a number of events and activities have been lined up to take place from October 2017-October 2018.
This was disclosed by an elated Vice-Chancellor, Prof. G.A. Teye, at the 25 thMatriculation of the University held at the Wa campus and across other campuses on Friday, 13th October, 2017. The theme for the year-long celebration is “UDS @ 25: Impact on National Development through Practical Higher Education.”
Launching the silver Jubilee Celebration, Prof. Teye noted that UDS was poised for the challenges ahead and committed to continue to position itself as a national asset in the facilitation of life-long learning in order to advance community and national development.“UDS is 25 years old… hurray!!! He exclaimed.
