Applications are invited from qualified persons for admission into graduate programmes (REGULAR) in the University of Cape Coast for the 2016/2017 academic year.
Scratch cards for online application forms are up for sale as listed below:

A copy of the pay-in slip should be submitted to the Officer at the Accra Office for the scratch card and other documentation.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
Candidates seeking admission to PhD programmes must:
- Have an MPhil research MA/MEd/MSc/MBA degree in an appropriate field of study from a recognized University.
- Submit an official transcript of academic record.
- Submit at least three referees, one of whom must be from a former Lecturer.
- Submit a proposal of 3-5 pages of intended area of study including a working bibliography.
- Pass a selection interview
- Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/School/ Department.
Master of Philosophy/Commerce/Nursing (MPhil/MCom/MN) Programmes
Candidates seeking admission to MPhil/MCom/MN degree programmes must:
- Have obtained a good first degree (at least a second class division) in an appropriate field of study from a recognized University/analogous Institution.
- Submit an official transcript of academic record.
- Submit at least two referees, one of whom must be from a former Lecturer.
- Submit a 2-3 page proposal on intended area of study including references.
- Pass a selection interview.
- Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/School/ Department.
Master of Arts/Science/Education/Business Administration (MA/MSc/MEd/MBA) Programmes
Candidates seeking admission to MA/MSc/MEd/MBA degree programmes must:
- Have obtained a good first degree (at least a second class division) in an appropriate field of study from a recognized University/analogous Institution.
- Submit an official transcript of academic record.
- Submit names of two referees, one of whom must be a former Lecturer.
- Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/School/ Department.
DURATION AND STRUCTURE OF PROGRAMMES
PhD (36 Months – Full Time)
The PhD Programme shall consist of two parts. These shall be by one year of course work or directed reading, and two years for thesis writing which shall be a requirement for the award of the PhD.
MPhil/MCom/MN (24 Months – Full Time)
The MPhil/MCom/MN Programmes shall normally extend over four semesters (two academic years) and shall be in two parts. The first part shall consist of the course work for one academic year (two semesters). On successful completion of the first part and on the recommendation of the Department’s Committee on Graduate Studies, a student may proceed to the second part comprising the writing of a thesis which shall be a requirement for the award of the MPhil/MCom/MN Degree.
MA/MSc/MEd/ MBA (12 Months – Full Time)
MA/MSc/MEd/MBA programmes are in two parts. The first part shall consist of two semesters of course work and the second part is made up of writing a dissertation which is a requirement for the award of the MA/MSc/MEd/MBA Degree

Programme Duration
MBA by course work and Dissertation. This consists of two semesters of course work and a dissertation.

Specific Requirements
- Applicants should also have a minimum of two years’ working experience.
- Applicants for MBA (Accounting) and MCom (Accounting) must hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce.
- Holders of Professional qualification such as ICA, ACCA, and CIMA, plus two (2) years post qualification work experience can apply.
- In addition to the above, applicants would be required to take a written test and also attend a selection interview for the determination of their suitability for the programme.

Specific Entry Requirements for MPhil Programmes in the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration
- Holders of a good BEd degree from any recognized University who have taught for not less than two (2) years after completion of their degree programme.
- Holders of a good BA or BSc degree must, in addition, hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Cape Coast or any recognized University and must have taught for not less than two (2) years after completion of their degree programme.
- Applicants for MPhil in Educational Planning who have knowledge in Economics at the first degree level in addition to (i) and (ii) above, will have an advantage.
- MPhil in Administration in Higher Education: In addition to requirements under (i) and (ii) above, applicants who have worked as administrators in Higher Educational Institutions for not less than two years will have an advantage.
- Candidates would have to pass a selection interview.

A research MPhil degree from an accredited university in any discipline. Candidates who are judged by the Department not to have satisfied requisite background courses would be required to take some courses in the University of Cape Coast MPhil NGO Studies and Community Development programme.

A good first degree in Agriculture with a significant amount of economics or with a specialization in Agricultural Economics from the University of Cape Coast or an accredited university.

SUBMISSION OF COMPLETED APPLICATION FORMS
Applicants are required to download two copies of Graduate Reference Form, to be completed and sealed by their referees. Applicants must forward the sealed referees’ form together with the following documents by post:
- Two (2) copies of relevant certificates authenticated by the awarding institution
- Two (2) copies of transcript of academic record
- Two (2) copies of online application confirmation page.
