Takoradi Technical University (TTU) holds a ceremony to inducts the newly elected Vice-Chancellor

NEW PRO VICE CHANCELLOR SWORN INTO OFFICE

Takoradi Technical University has held a ceremony to induct the newly elected Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah into office with a call on him to champion the strategic goals of the University.

Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah who hails from Winneba in the Central Region of Ghana becomes the first to occupy this position since the upgrade of the Polytechnic into a Technical University and would be in charge of all academic issues of the university.

Presiding over the ceremony, the Council Chairperson, Dr. Mrs. Henrietta Abane commended the university community for the peaceful processes before, during and after the election of Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah.

She therefore called on all teaching and non-teaching staff to work in harmony and support the new Pro VC, adding that his success will greatly depend on the hard work of all staff.

Dr. Abane expressed confidence in the abilities and capabilities of Prof. Micah and challenged him to bring his expertise and dynamism to bear on achieving the set goals and philosophy of the University.

On his part, the Vice Chancellor, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun praised the election of Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah due to his commitment, diligence to work and zeal for success.

The Vice Chancellor was also grateful to the search committee for a good work done. He therefore called on all staff to leave the past to history and forge ahead to make the university a better place that all staff will be proud to associate with.

He charged all deans and heads of department to give the needed support to the Pro VC to enable him achieve the ambitious targets set by the university.

In his maiden address at his swearing-in, the new Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah called for unity among staff for the development of the university.

According to him, even though the challenges ahead may seem daunting, they are surmountable. “We cannot afford to be paralyzed by disunity and mediocrities so let us foster a cordial working relationship that will help us meet our set targets”, he added.

Prof. Micah used the opportunity to thank his predecessors particularly Dr. Samuel Adentwi Bentum, for his exceptional leadership and stewardship during the search period and election of the same.

He pledged to do his maximum best to meet the responsibilities of the office as stipulated in the University Statutes to achieve the targets stated in the five-year strategic plan.
