Professor Rita Dickson Takes Over From Rev. Prof. Charles Ansah KNUST

Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson has formally taken over the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, as the first female Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) at a formal handing over ceremony in the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor.

Reverend Professor Charles Ansah, the outgoing Pro Vice-Chancellor, who assumed office in 2016, has officially handed over to Professor Mrs. Dickson who assumes duty on 1st October, 2018.

Briefing the media from the University Relations Office(URO) on his tenure of office, the Outgoing Pro Vice-Chancellor, indicated that his two-year term of office has been challenging but very exciting in the sense that the Vice-Chancellor had just taken over and had a lot of plans for the University and as Pro Vice-Chancellor he had to buy into his vision and support him, but generally it was good he added.

Reverend Professor Charles Ansah stated that together with the Vice-Chancellor, there been changes and development projects in all aspects of the University. He was confident that his successor together with the Vice-Chancellor would help further develop the University.

Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, In-Coming Pro Vice-Chancellor, said his appointment is both a humbling and a happy one especially to take office in a prestigious University like KNUST.

Professor Mrs. Dickson said she hopes to draw inspiration from the past leadership of the University and with her nomination, seek guidance from past leaders. She was excited that her predecessor handed the Deanship of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences to her. Prof. Mrs. Dickson revealed that she had consulted him when she became Dean and will continue to seek his guidance when the need arises in her administration. She also stated that she will support the Vice-Chancellor’s initiatives to further develop the University.
