NTNU Pays A Courtesy Call On Pro Vice Chancellor At KNUST

The Director of Centre for Integrated Operations (IO), Professor Jon Kleppe, and Dr. Ing. Egil Tjaland of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), accompanied by the Provost of the College of Engineering, Professor Mark Adom Asamoah and the Head, Department of Petroleum Engineering, Professor Kwabena Biritwum Nyarko paid a visit to the Pro Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson on Tuesday, 9th October, 2018.

Briefing the Pro Vice Chancellor on the purpose of the visit, Prof. Adom Asamoah said the College of Engineering (CoE) embarked on an educational visit to NTNU from 14th September to 22nd September 2018 to explore opportunities for collaboration with NTNU. Prof. Adom Asamoah stated that the outcome of the visit has been fruitful as NTNU has agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KNUST to start a joint postgraduate MSc. and PhD programmes in Engineering and also train PhD students through the sandwich mode.

The Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof Mrs Rita Dickson expressed her appreciation to Prof. Jon Kleppe and Dr. Ing. Egil Tjaland of NTNU for the warm reception given to CoE during their visit. She promised KNUST’s commitment in collaborating with NTNU and indicated her desire to have the MoU signed soon.
