Law Faculty Orientation: Dean Admonishes Students to Tap into Available Resources

The Dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Kwame Frimpong has admonished ‘fresh’ law students to eschew sluggishness in their chosen field of study, but rather tap into the rich resources of the university as they pursue academic excellence.

The Founding Dean made these remarks during an orientation for the 2018/2019 law students at the Justice Aryeetey Auditorium on Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

Prof Frimpong noted that, there was the need for students to exhibit and uphold high moral and ethical aptitude for a successful career drive. He further explained that hard work, dedication and sacrifice are the key inherent prerequisites for studying Law, aside one’s academic qualifications; and charged them to strive for excellence in their four-year journey.

The astute law professor in a parabolic anecdote also urged the students to take advantage of every opportunity availed to them by the university and the country for that matter.

“Deep your buckets in the water near you,” he stressed.

A Senior Law Lecturer, Dr. Francisca Kusi-Appiah reechoed the need for students to be disciplined and charged them to be professional in their conducts.

“As Law Faculty, we thrive on rules and regulations, so it is incumbent on you (law students) to abide by the tenets of the law wherever you find yourself,” she said.

The Freshers were oriented on course outline and registration processes, channel of communication, grievance management, the rules and regulations governing the Faculty as well as the university.
