VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – SECURITY SUPERVISOR

The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), a World Class Centre of Excellence for training in Leadership, Management and Administration, located at Greenhill, Achimota, invites applications from qualified persons for appointment as SECURITY SUPERVISOR.

The Security Supervisor shall assist the Security Coordinator to maintain a safe and secured environment.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The successful candidate shall report to the Security Coordinator.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate shall:

  • Assign work areas for Security Guards to patrol.
  • Supervise the operations of Guards deployed on campus.
  • Ensure that Guards are awake and perform their assigned duties.
  • Ensure that defects, damages or theft cases are reported to the security Coordinator and recommend corrective measures.
  • Ensure that all occurrences are recorded in the occurrence book and brief the Security Coordinator ofallevents that might occur during the patrol.
  • Ensure the safety and security of valuables, property and people.
  • Report any suspicious incidents to the Security Coordinator as soon as it is detected.
  • Be responsible for the monitoring and controlling of access to buildings and entrances.
  • Respond promptly to alarm and distress calls.
  • Look out for suspicious persons, vandalism or hazards.
  • Ensure all security systems, such as burglar alarms and CCTV are working properly.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Security Coordinator.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

A minimum of Bachelor’s degreeand any additional qualification with at least four (4) years relevant experience.

  • Must have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Must exhibit high sense of integrity.
  • Must have high level of commitment and professionalism.
  • Must have the ability to drive a vehicle or ride a motor bike and have valid driver’s license.
  • Must be mentally alert.
  • Must be a team player.
