Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) – Issuing a New Driving License (NDL)

LEARNER DRIVER’S LICENSE

A Learner Driver’s Licence has to be acquired for a period of three (3) months before the actual licence could be applied for.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Physical presence of applicant at any DVLA office
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Basic education (BECE) or Adult Education, Ability to read and write
  • Pictures

PROCEDURE
  • Purchase and completion of Forms F and F1
  • Physical examination and eye test
  • Payment and issuance of Learner Driver’s Permit, L-Plate, Syllabus and Highway Code
  • Compulsory 48-hour training with a DVLA accredited driving school
  • Capture of biometric information and scheduling for written test
  • Written exams (Computer-Based Test)
  • Oral examination
  • In- Traffic Test
  • Payment of Driver’s Licence and P-Plate fees
  • Capture for Driver’s Licence
  • Issuance of Temporary Driver’s Licence and P-Plate
  • Issuance of Driver’s Licence
