DLI : Data Link Holds 12th Matriculation Ceremony
Data Link Institute has held its 12th Matriculation Ceremony for students of its main Campus in Tema.
The ceremony was held to formally admit into its Tema, Campus Two Hundred and Thirty-Six students who have enrolled to pursue various undergraduate programmes at the Business and Computer Science Schools of the Institute for the 2016/2017 Academic Year. Additionally, seventeen students who are pursuing professional programmes which the Institute runs with the Chattered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Ghana have also been matriculated.
In her welcome address, Vice President, Institutional Advancement, Mrs. Ingrid Ansah who delivered the Founder’s goodwill message welcomed the students formally to Data Link Institute. She advised them to take their studies serious and develop their talents to be able to contribute meaningfully to the development of Ghana and Africa. She emphasized that success cannot be achieved on a silver platter since the pursuant of higher education comes with its own challenges. She also added that access to tertiary education is a privilege for just a few and Matriculates should count themselves blessed if they have the opportunity.
Mrs. Agnes Wenyah, Head, Students Services administered the matriculation oath to the students on behalf of the Registrar and took the opportunity to encourage students to be actively involved in on-campus associations to help them acquire leadership skills for future success.
In his address, the President of Data Link Institute, Prof. Jacob J. Nortey, congratulated the freshmen on their admission to Data Link. He reiterated the popular statement that a journey of a thousand mile begins with a step and used the occasion to advise the matriculates that they are ushered into a four-year journey of higher education with its attendant challenges. He cited Dr. Kwagyir Aggrey, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and Nelson Mandela as examples worth emulating.
He assured students of Managements’ commitment to make their stay at Data Link exciting and worthwhile by providing the needed facilities, a dedicated and efficient faculty and staff who are recognized and sort for in the higher education industry.
“Data Link aims at producing students who will excel both in the classroom and on the job. Not only will you excel in the classroom and on the jobs when you graduate, but will also thrive in the society to become ambassadors for the Institute, your country and as global citizens”.
Prof. Jacob J. Nortey urged students to study hard to excel in academic work to make parents and guardians proud.
The event was also attended by parents, guardians and other invited guests.
