2018 ABE Students embark on Employability and Self Development Tour At PUC

The Association of Business Executives (ABE) students of Pentecost University College (PUC) have embarked on an Employability and Self Development Tour at PUC Offices to identify behaviours, skills and attitudes that are increasingly demanded at the workplace.

“Regardless of possessing good qualifications and technical skills, many new recruits find it difficult to integrate and establish themselves in an existing team when starting a new position”, said Ms Doris Aryee, the Course Instructor. She added that this can have an adverse impact on their productivity and performance during the early stages of their employment. Hence, the need to expose students to the working environment to identify what it takes for new employees to become fully established and highly effective in their roles.

Isaac Oppong, an ABE student who participated in the tour, couldn’t hide his joy. He said, “now I know what goes on in the various offices and what employers require from us”. I strongly believe that this tour came just in time for us to develop our employability and entrepreneurial skills as students, he added.

Pentecost University College is accredited by the National Accreditation Board (NAB) and ABE, UK to run the programme, and has also received approval as one of the ABE Examination Centres in Ghana.

PUC has consistently made significant strides in the Association of Business Executives (ABE) examinations at every sitting since the year 2011. Seven (7) students from Pentecost University College won Top Paper Awards in 2017.

The Association of Business Executives (ABE) provides flexible professional business qualifications which can lead to University entry or help in developing one’s career. ABE offers Diplomas in Business Management with additional pathways in Human Resource Management and Marketing Management.

ABE qualifications are accredited in the UK by Ofqual and are studied by 50,000 students every year in more than 400 Universities worldwide.
