The first National Symposium on Forensic and Investigative Sciences (NaSFIS 2017) will be held at the National Council for Tertiary Education Conference Centre, East Legon – Accra on 20th December, 2017 under the theme “Peace, Security and Justice for National Development”. The maiden symposium, which is being organized by the Department of Forensic Sciences, University of Cape Coast, will bring together about 500 delegates from various government agencies, security services, academia and private sector to discuss advancements in the criminal investigation procedure from the crime scene to the court room.
The one-day symposium will consist of one plenary session followed by three parallel sessions under the following sub-themes;
- Contemporary Forensics
- Cyber Forensics
- Law, Forensic Psychology and Criminology
Key-note Addresses during the plenary sessions will focus on;
- Justice Delivery System – Credible Evidence and Conviction Rates
- Crime Rate and National Security
The symposium will be chaired by Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast. All are hereby cordially invited.
