Overview
Communication can be effected or hindered by the different ways that men and women express themselves. Within the work environment, ways of communicating affects the inter-relational dynamics between the sexes and impact on total output. The Health and Social Care Organisations, depends on effective communication skills as key to deliver services that meet the needs of service users. In particular, there is a strong indication that a positive relationship between healthcare professionals and patients, facilitates the latter’s ability to respond to treatment.
This course is designed to help participants explore different ways that effective communication can enhance the provision and delivery of healthcare services to satisfy the range of needs that practitioners meet routinely. It highlights gender and cross-cultural issues in Communication and unravels some of the barriers to effective communication.
