It is announced for the information of prospective applicants and the general public that the School of Graduate Studies, RMU, is offering the under-listed programmes for the academic year commencing February, leading to the award of Master of Science Degrees.
M.Sc. Environmental Engineering
The Environmental Engineer uses the principles of engineering, soil science, biology, and chemistry to develop solutions to environmental problems and is involved in efforts to improve recycling, waste disposal, public health,and water and air pollution control. He/she also addresses global issues, such as unsafe drinking water, climate change, and environmental sustainability. The MSc. Environmental Engineering Programme aims to produce graduates that combine technical and scientific skills, with an understanding of the environment and land-based industries, to contribute tothe development of environmental solutions in urban and rural areas.
M.Sc. Bio-Processing Engineering
Today’s issues of climate change and declining fossil fuel reserves are driving the expansion of renewable energy technologies and the production of biofuels and industrial raw materials from crops. The application and benefits of the optimal utilization of these materials are practically endless. Bio-processing Engineers deal with the design and development of equipment and processes for the manufacturing of products such as food, feed, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, etc.from biological materials & treatment of waste water. In this study line, you will gain competencies in generation, design and analysis within the field of bio-processing.
M.Sc. Renewable Energy Engineering
Renewable energy engineers maximize the energy potential of clean energy sources (including wind, solar, geothermal, and hydro power) and monitor and develop alternative energy outputs. They are part of the growing sector of green jobs that involve environmentally conscious production. The focus of this programme is to produce graduates capable of finding efficient, clean and innovative ways to supply energy, in addition to identifying and providing solutions to technological problems within the renewable energy sector to the benefit of society.
- All modules are run on weekends
- Industry-led coursework and research
- Entrepreneurial training for self-employment
- On-campus 600kW solar farm used for lab work
- A good first degree in Engineering with at least a Second Class Lower Division from a recognized University.
- Applicants with B.Sc. in the Physical Sciences will be considered if they have, at least, one (1) year relevant industry experience.
- Applicants with a Third class in related fields, with at least two years (2) industry experience may be considered. Such applicants will be subject to an interview and / with entrance examination.
- Applicants must submit the following with applications:
- Detailed Curriculum Vitae.
- Certified copies of transcripts and certificates.
- Personal statement of not more than 500 words (1½ pages) detailing your motivation for wanting to study the Course and what you believe you will gain from it.

[I] DOMESTIC APPLICANTS
All applicants are required to use the Regional Maritime University [RMU] online application portal. The procedure for the online application process is as follows:
[a] Make appropriate payment of GH ¢ 215.00 at the various sales centers for the RMU E-Voucher:
 Regional Maritime University, Nungua – Accra, Cash Office (Finance Directorate)
 All Branches of the Ghana Commercial Bank
 All Branches of Ecobank [foreign and local]
 All Regional and District Post Offices across Ghana
[b] The E-Voucher contains the Pin and Serial Number required to complete the online form.
[c] Access the online form by visiting the University’s online admissions portal at www.rmu.edu.gh. Then click on apply after payment.
[d] In completing the online form, students will be required to upload their passport size photographs
[e] A completed form is not considered until it is SUBMITTED.
[f] Applicants must print out application summary; attach transcripts, certificates and all other relevant documents. These documents should be forwarded to the Dean, School of Graduate Studies.
[g] Candidates are strongly advised to visit Courier Companies in their Countries for assistance towards the return of the application documents [see f].

[b] Click on International Applications and follow the instructions displayed on the page for the completion of the form.
[c] Applicants must print out application summary; attach transcripts, certificates and all other relevant documents. These documents should be sent to the Academic Registrar.
The closing date for submission of application forms is 12th. Candidates should note that NO application will be accepted after the deadline.
