REGIONAL LEARNING CENTRES

Students who wish to change their Centres to any of the following Regional Learning Centres should send an email to coeacademic@ug.edu.gh Index numbers and contact details should be clearly indicated.

PROCEDURE FOR REGISTRATION

Full registration involves:

·        Printing of provisional admission letter

·        Payment of Fees

·        Online Registration

·        Registration/Collection of Course Materials at Learning Centre

PRINTING OF PROVISIONAL ADMISSION LETTER

Follow the steps on the University’s home page to print out your provisional admission letter.

PAYMENT OF FEES

All University fees are to be paid to the appropriate University of Ghana accounts at designated banks. For the 2015/2016 Academic Year, payments of all University Fees should be made through the Standard Chartered Bank or ECOBANK Limited.

After printing out their provisional letter of admission, students are required to pay their University Fees through any Branch office of the Standard Chartered Bank or ECOBANK Limited to University of Ghana Students’ Fee Collection Account.

Students should quote in full their names, level of study and student identification numbers on all payment slips and counterfoils.

REGISTRATION AT REGIONAL LEARNING CENTRES

All fresh students are expected to register at their designated Learning Centres and to collect their course materials from October 5 to 23, 2015. Upon arrival, proceed to the registration officers and undertake the following processes:

i.                Show your Provisional Admission letter and Proof of online Registration

ii.              Proceed with registration

iii.           Collect your Course Materials

STUDENT HANDBOOKS/ID CARDS

Electronic copies of undergraduate handbooks and regulations are available on the University’s website.

Student ID cards will be made available to you soon. Arrangements for their collection will be announced on the College of Education/University website.

MODE OF DELIVERY

The mode of delivery will be a hybrid/blended learning approach; that is a combination of E-learning and face to face interaction. It will be made up of the following:

1.        Teaching – 14 contact hours

2.        Tutorials – Once a month

3.        E-Learning on the Sakai Learning Management platform

All examinations will be held at Regional Learning Centres.

Further information will be given during registration.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR BSC INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS

As a condition of your admission, BSc Information Technology Students are required to own a personal laptop with the following minimum specifications:

Operating System                   :         Windows 7 Home Premium

Productivity Tools        :         Microsoft Office 2007/2010

Processor Type              :         core i5 Processor

Memory                        :         4 GB RAM

Hard Drive                    :         250 GB

Graphics Card              :         512 MB Video Memory

Emulation Software     :         Individual lecturers will specify what software

is required and how to obtain it.

MATRICULATION

All fresh students will be officially recognized as students of the University at Matriculation ceremonies. Students are to dress formally, and to wear black academic gowns. The procedure for collecting the black gowns as well as the date and venues for the ceremonies will be announced on the College of Education/University website and noticeboards at the Regional Learning Centres.
