SCHOOL OF HOTEL, RESTAURANT AND TOURISM MANAGEMENT (SHORT MGT) is the first private professional hospitality Training Institute in Ghana established in November 1997 byGOYIMWOLE ENUKOMEKO KPODO.

The institute started at the former Libya Cultural Centre off ring road near Paloma Hotel, ACCRA with thirteen (13) students. The institute was registered and incorporated in 1998 and moved to W.E.B. Du-Bois Centre in Cantonments, ACCRA. In October, 2000 the institute moved to its current premises at Ghana International Trade Fair Centre, La, Accra-Ghana. Founded in 1997 initially as a professional hospitality training school with only thirteen (13) students, School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management is the oldest private Hospitality Training School in Ghana.

SHORT MGT is affiliated to Stratford University (USA) and in collaboration with the college of Business, Chicago State University (USA) as accredited institutions for the award of certificates and other services such as, Student/Faculty Exchange Programs, student transfer and internship programs.

CITATION: This award is in recognition of the institution’s identification of human resource limitations in the sector and its success at packaging and offering appropriate courses which are relevant to the industry leading to products that are excelling in the industry. The school has consistently supported the tourism sector in various ways and deserves to be honoured.

FUTURE PLAN
The School is currently negotiating a hundred acre land for a permanent location.

SHORT MGT is governed by a Board of Directors, Academic & non Academic Advisory Boards with members drawn from the Academia and the Hospitality Industry.
