The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana has given accreditation to Pentecost University to run Nursing Access Programme.

This comes after the Council has conducted rigorous accreditation procedures in the University.

The Council which regulates and supervises nursing institutions and practitioners said they are satisfied with the faculty and facilities the University has at it’s nursing department.

They therefore gave the University the license to run the Access Program. This will augment the regular and top-up options the University currently runs.

Commenting on the development, the Head of Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University, Dr Abigail Kyei expressed gratification for the achievement. ‘We have positioned ourselves to be the nursing school of choice in Africa and this new addition to our portfolio is very gratifying’.

Dr Kyei expressed confidence that the department has the capacity to train nurses who distinguish themselves everywhere they go. ‘This accreditation has given us the opportunity to admit and mould nurses who started at the certificate level to become models of the profession’… she added.

The Nursing Access programme gives an opportunity to nurses who hold certificates, NAC and HAC to upgrade to degree levels.

In 2019, Pentecost University’s Department of Nursing and Midwifery was adjudged the Overall Best Nursing and Midwifery Faculty in Ghana.

The department continues to build on its success stories and positive testimony from industry.

Meanwhile, Pentecost University is accepting applications for all of its programmes for the 2020/2021 academic year.
