University to Reopen on November 19, 2018

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) was re-opened on Friday, November 16, 2018, following the closure of the University on Monday, October 22, 2018. The announcement of the University’s reopening was contained in a letter dated November 13, 2018 signed by the Registrar, Mr. Andrews K. Boateng.

The Council at its 251st (Special) meeting held on Tuesday November 13, 2018, in consultation with the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) gave the directive. Lectures resumes today, Monday, November 19, 2018.

In a related development, the various labour associations/unions of KNUST have also fully resumed operations in the University. The Unions, namely the University Teachers Association of Ghana, the Ghana Association of University Administrators, the Senior Staff Association and the Teachers and Educational Workers Union, issued a joint press release to that effect, which was signed by all presidents.

The release also thanked all stakeholders in the resolution processes that have restored normalcy to campus.
