KNUST BSc. And Diploma Top-Up Programmes in Nursing, Midwifery, Emergency Nursing and Community Health Nursing for the Academic Year

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into BSc. and Diploma Top-up programmes at the Department of Nursing, College of Health Sciences, KNUST.

SANDWICH SESSIONS (JUNE – AUGUST)

  1. DIPLOMA TOP-UP PROGRAMMES (SANDWICH: JUNE – AUGUST)
  • Diploma in General Nursing
  • Diploma in Midwifery
  • Diploma in Community Health Nursing

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS 

  1. BSc. Programmes
  • Emergency Nursing
  • General Nursing

Holders of Diploma in Nursing with a good pass and have at least TWO (2) years working experience.

  • BSc. Midwifery

Holders of Diploma in Midwifery with a good pass and have at least TWO (2) years working experience.

  • BSc. Community Health Nursing

Holders of Diploma in Community Health Nursing with a good pass and have at least TWO (2) years working experience

NB: Applicants with a Diploma certificate obtained through the KNUST-MoH programme may apply for the BSc programmes in their specialties.

  1. DIPLOMA TOP-UP PROGRAMMES (SANDWICH)

Applicants who meet the University’s minimum requirement of Six (6) credits including English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science with a Minimum of Three (3) years working experience.

OR

Applicants must obtain a pass in the Institute of Distance Learning (IDL), KNUST Access Programme, and have a minimum of Three (3) years working experience.

In addition to these, applicants must satisfy the following specific requirement in the various Programmes as follows;

DIPLOMA IN GENERAL NURSING

  • MUST be a Health Assistant Clinical (HAC) certificate holder registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with a valid PIN.

DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSING

  • MUST be a Community Health Nurse (CHN) certificate holder registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with a valid PIN.

MIDWIFERY 

  • MUST be a Post EN/CHN/HAC Midwifery Certificate holder
  • MUST be a straight Midwifery Certificate holder registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana with a valid PIN.

MODE OF APPLICATION

  • Applicants must purchase an e-Voucher by paying an application fee at the Ghana Post Company Ltd.
  • Upon payment of the application fee, candidates will receive an e-Voucher containing an application number and PIN that will grant access to the online admissions portal.
  • Candidates should then proceed to online admissions website at apps.knust.edu.gh/admissions and begin the application process.
  • Once the process has been completed, candidates must print out TWO (2) COPIES of the completed application form from the portal and submit them to the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, KNUST together with all relevant documents (Photocopies of Certificates and transcripts)

Application fee: GH¢ 220.00
