West End University College School Of Nursing Entry Requirements

Level 100 Entry

WASSCE holders
will have passes (grades A1 – C6) in the following subjects:

Three (3) core subjects comprised of Mathematics, English Language and Integrated Science

Three (3) Elective subjects comprised of any 3 of  the following: Biology, Elective Mathematics, Physics, General Agriculture, General Arts, Home Economics

 

SSSC holders
will have passes (grades A-D) in the following subjects:

Three (3) core subjects comprised of Mathematics, English Language and Integrated Science

Three (3) Elective subjects comprised of any 3 of  the following: Biology, Elective Mathematics, Physics, General Agriculture, General Arts

Pure Science students who do not have the Integrated Science will be considered for admission if they have the following:

WASSCE holders will have passes (grades A1-C6) in the following subjects:

Two (2) core subjects comprised of Mathematics and English Language; and

Four (4) elective subjects comprised of Mathematics (Elective), Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

SSSC holders will have passes (grades A-D) in the following subjects:

Two (2) core subjects comprised of Mathematics and English and

Four (4) elective subjects comprised of Mathematics (Elective), Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Level 200 Entry for State Registered Nurses (SRN)

Applicant must:

Have at least three years working experience as a SRN;

Provide a written reference from immediate supervisor; and

Pass an entrance examination/interview conducted by the University College.

 

Level 300 Entry for Registered General Nurses (Diploma)

Applicant must:

Have at least three years working experience as a nurse;

Provide a written reference from immediate supervisor; and

Pass an entrance examination/interview conducted by the University College.

 

Regulations and Guidelines for Admission

The top, best qualified applicants based on the required admission criteria will be accepted. Priority will be given to those qualified students with a grade of B or better in Integrated Science. In the case of Pure Science applicants, the grades in the science courses will be evaluated.

Applicants will be ranked according to their composite scores.

No more than two result slips will be accepted to determine the composite score.
